Arizona is an amazing place to ride because of the beautiful roads and magnificent scenery. I have been riding Arizona in the spring for many years and it never gets boring. After we land in Phoenix a short shuttle ride takes us to our hotel. Friday afternoon we will just kind of “hang out “at the hotel in Scottsdale relaxing after our flight.
Saturday morning we will ride east through Apache Junction and on to Tortilla Flat. It’s an amazing ride and it will give you a chance to get acclimated to your rental bike and to the desert SW. We will have lunch in Tortilla Flat while listening to some great live music. The ride back to Scottsdale will include a stop at Superstition Harley-Davidson just in case you need a t-shirt or souvenir. Saturday night we will have a group dinner for everyone to get acquainted before our week’s journey. After dinner we will have a presentation on the week’s “road trip”. I will cover safe riding practices and the hand signals we will use during our ride. Each day will start with breakfast at 8:00 AM and “kick stands up” at 9:00 AM.
Day 1 – On the first day (Sunday) of our road trip we will head SE from Scottsdale and into the desert and mountains of Arizona. We will spend the night in Patagonia, Az.
Day 2 (Monday) is our “old west” day. We will ride to Tombstone and walk the streets that Wyatt Earp once walked. You can also watch the re-enactment of the “Shootout at the OK Corral”. We will continue SE and stop in the quaint little mining town of Bisbee. If we are lucky, we will meet the “hugging mayor” of Bisbee. After lunch we continue SE to Douglas; a town on the Mexico Border. We will continue north and make a brief stop at the Chiricahua National Monument. We will spend the evening in Wilcox, Az.
Day 3 (Tuesday) Today we will see the Morenci Copper Mine. This mine is the largest open pit copper mine in the US. We head north on Route 191. This road was named RT 666 but people kept stealing the signs so they renumbered the route. Route 191 from Three-Way, Hannagan Meadow, to Alpine is a great road through very mountainous terrain. This could be our coolest weather day because of the high altitude we will be riding in. I suggest if you have heated gear this would be a good day to wear it in case you need to turn it on. We will spend the night in Eagar, Az
Day 4 (Wednesday) we will ride through the Petrified Forest NP and the Painted Desert. Time permitting we will make a stop in Winslow, Arizona and take a picture by the sign made famous by the Eagles. We will spend the next two nights in Flagstaff, Az
Day 5 (Thursday) Today we ride to the Grand Canyon. This is an amazing day ride especially if this is your first time to the Grand Canyon. Words and photos do not do it justice; you have to see it for yourself to believe it! This will be a day full of photo opportunities so make sure your camera is ready!
Day 6 (Friday) we will head south down Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. We will take our morning break walking around Sedona. We will continue south to Jerome and then to Prescott for lunch. This afternoon is our last ride through mountains before we ride back into the desert. We will get back to Scottsdale and you can go to the Arizona Bike Week venue at West World.
Saturday we will load our motorcycle on the trailer for their ride home. We will fly home today but if you wish to spend additional days we can help you make those arrangements.
We offer the ability to pay in installments for all tours but they must be paid in full at least 30 days prior to the tour start date. If we purchase your airfare it must be paid at the time of booking and will be charged to your credit card. We will continue to offer customized tour packages for individuals, groups or organizations. If you are planning a business conference this winter in warm places such as Arizona, we can arrange a group outing for you and your colleagues that would include rental motorcycles.
Please Note!! All tours include your lodging! The "Ship, Fly and Ride" tours include shipping your bike round trip and your lodging! Rental motorcycles are available through Harley-Davidson Authorized Rental Dealers! Our 3-day weekend tours include lodging and all meals. Tours also include at least one group dinner, most breakfasts, route sheets, guides and much more.
Tour On Two offers a great motorcycle riding experience at a great price!
“Great tour! Bill Gade bends over backwards, from planning to the actual trip, to show us a wonderful and interesting time. Great value for the money.” Tom S.
